Sarah: Welcome, Mario. It’s a pleasure to have you here today.
Mario: Thank you, Sarah. It’s great to be here.
Sarah: Let’s start with a bit about your background. Can you tell us about your journey in the tech industry and your previous role as a CTO?
Mario: Certainly. I’ve been passionate about software development for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I’ve worked on various projects and held multiple roles in different companies. My most recent position was as a CTO at a tech firm where we achieved a successful exit. That experience taught me a lot about scaling a company and building robust tech solutions.
Sarah: That sounds impressive. So, what brought you to TAGBASE.io? I heard that initially, you were hesitant to join the company.
Mario: Yes, that’s true. When Manuel Mertl, the CEO of TAGBASE, first approached me, I was a bit skeptical. However, as I delved deeper into the problem they were addressing and saw the initial prototype Manuel had developed, I began to realize the genius of the solution. It wasn’t just a theoretical concept; there was a real, defined problem that TAGBASE was solving.
Sarah: Can you elaborate on what made you change your mind and decide to join TAGBASE as a Co-Founder and CTO?
Mario: The more I thought about the problem and the potential impact of the solution, the more convinced I became. TAGBASE addresses a critical need in the industry—preventing counterfeiting and ensuring product authenticity. The platform provides physical objects with uncopyable identities, which is a game-changer. Joining TAGBASE not only as the CTO but also as a Co-Founder gave me the opportunity to work on something meaningful and have a significant influence on the direction of the company. It was a chance to be part of creating something from the ground up that could genuinely improve the way businesses and consumers handle product authenticity.
Sarah: It sounds like you found a great fit with TAGBASE. What excites you the most about working there?
Mario: What excites me the most is the potential for impact. TAGBASE isn’t just another startup with an abstract idea. It’s a concrete solution to a real problem, and I believe it can transform the industry. The platform not only prevents counterfeiting but also leverages blockchain technology to add an additional layer of proof of digital ownership. This combination of physical and digital security is incredibly powerful. Being part of a team that is dedicated to solving such a problem and knowing that our work can make a significant difference is incredibly motivating.
Sarah: That’s wonderful to hear. Can you share a bit more about how TAGBASE works and the technologies behind it?
Mario: TAGBASE utilizes advanced tagging technologies to give physical objects unique, uncopyable identities. This prevents counterfeiting by ensuring that each product can be authenticated and traced back to its origin. Additionally, we use blockchain technology to add a layer of digital proof of ownership. While blockchain is not required for product authenticity, it provides a secure, transparent way to show ownership and history of the product, adding extra value and security for both businesses and consumers.
Sarah: It sounds like you’re working on something truly innovative. How do you see TAGBASE evolving in the next few years?
Mario: I see TAGBASE becoming a key player in the fight against counterfeiting and the leader in product authenticity solutions. Our goal is to continue refining our technology, expanding our capabilities, and reaching more industries that can benefit from our solution. We’re also focused on building a strong team and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. If we can achieve these goals, I believe TAGBASE will have a lasting impact on the industry.
Sarah: That’s an inspiring vision. Before we wrap up, do you have any advice for aspiring tech professionals who want to make a significant impact in their careers?
Mario: My advice would be to stay curious and be open to new opportunities. Sometimes, the most impactful opportunities come when you least expect them. Also, focus on solving real problems and adding value. If you can find a way to make a genuine difference, the rest will follow.
Sarah: Thank you so much for sharing your insights, Mario. It’s been a pleasure talking with you.
Mario: Thank you, Sarah. It’s been a pleasure being here.
